an artist who never leaves anyone indifferent and who raises passions all over the world

Marcos, better know as Dj Murphy, started playing on the decks in 1992 in Sao Paulo, influenced by acid house and hip hop music. In 1994 he decided his career will turn to Techno music.

His sets are based on the precisión of his mixes that combines with devastating scratches and amazing effects that make him one of the most talented djs in the international scene.

His talent and versatility allowed him to play in many cities and countries around the globe. Some of his highlights are Loveparade 2006 (where he played in front of 1 million people), Nature One 2006 and the closings sets at Monegros Desert Festival in 2007 and 2009.

At the beginning of his career, Murphy gained a name in the Brazilian Techno circuit thanks to his masterful performances throughout the country. In 2000, Murphy took part in his first Dj’s competition organized by Nucleo Hypnotic. He won the competition ahead of 500 participants. Besides playing at clubs and raves all over the country, Murphy got a monthly residence at Lov.e club and Manga Rosa, where he shows his good taste and his amazing technique playing Hard Groove. Nowadays Murphy is well known for being one of the most talented Techno djs, introducing scratchs, back to backs, samples and synths to his sets. He was chosen “Best Techno DJ” by DJ Sound magazine in 2004/2005.  He has been playing in Alemania (Nature One, Time Warp), Bélgica, Argentina, Canadá, Francia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Mónaco, Portugal, República Checa, Turquía, España…

In 2006 he accepts the order from Fine Audio Recordings to mix the new edition of their CD mixes, Fine Audio DJ Mix Series Vol.10, a double cd that included tracks by Gaetano Parisio, Dj Preach or Robert Natus. It also included his own tracks produced with his studio partner Christian Fischer.

2007 was the year of his consecration in Spain. He had the honour of closing the legendary festival Monegros Desert Festival and also playing at Aquasella. He also has the pleasure of playing at Awakenings, Mayday and Nature One among others.

In 2008, Murphy plays at Dance Valley and Timewarp, sorrounded by some of the biggest names in the Techno scene such as Sven Väth, Laurent Garnier, Carl Cox or Richie Hawtin. In 2009 has the pleasure of closing Monegros Desert Festival for second time.

Throughout his career, Murphy has been able to adapt perfectly to new trends and styles without ever neglecting what makes him great above others: his technique. Scratching backwards with the deck in vertical position, vertiginous cuts and almost impossible mixes make him a special artist, different from the rest, an artist who never leaves anyone indifferent and who raises passions all over the world.
